"Everyone has the right to freedom of expression"
“Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression”, “Everyone has the right to freedom of thought” and “Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country […]” are three articles of the Declaration of Human Rights. Today many authoritarian regimes try to take away these rights. They make use of mass surveillance and censorship to deny their victims the access to independent media and the internet, hoping to suppress the struggle for freedom and democracy.
This is where the Tor Project comes into place. Tor is a nonprofit organization believing that everyone should be able to explore the internet. Read more about Tor.
As a citizen of a free and democratic country, I feel an obligation to help those people who unfortunately do not have the same freedom and rights.
